| DesignIntelligence features high quality articles and research for the A/E/C industry. Goals for the site were to produce a design focused on making the textual content highly accessible while appealing to design industry leaaders. Classical proportions used throughout the design are meant to evoke architectural structure. All design elements are defined within a modular grid based on the golden section. Interchangable modules are used throughout for photography, promotions and informational content. The site is W3C XHTML 1.0 compliant and uses CSS (instead of tables) for all layout. All navigation and headlines are HTML text based for high readibility and accessibility to search engines. A custom content management system (CMS) was built to manage the articles, issues, authors, subscriber access, online discussions, and more. As part of this project, Ryan Cramer Design built a custom bookstore using OS Commerce where publications such as the Almanac of Architecture & Design can be purchased online.
